TOKYO, JAPAN – September 13, 2024 – Terumo Corporation (TSE: 4543) today held “Terumo Patient’s Day 2024” to connect with Terumo’s Group Mission of “Contributing to Society through Healthcare,” and for each associate to reconfirm their day-to-day contribution at work ultimately leads to the well-being of patients.

Started in 2013, Terumo Patient’s Day is celebrated globally throughout the Terumo Group. Every year, various activities to engage with patients and medical settings are organized at the group sites around the world, such as healthcare professional speaker events, visits to hospitals, and blood donation drives.

This year, a series of online programs were held in Japan on the topic of “pain,” including a lecture by a doctor specializing in pain management and a session in which associates shared how their work contributes to alleviating patients’ pain.

Hikaru Samejima, Chief Executive Officer of Terumo Corporation commented, “Terumo Patient’s Day serves as a special moment for all of our associates, reminding us of our Group Mission and reaffirming one of our Core Values, ’Care—Empathetic to patients.’ It is truly gratifying and encouraging to hear the precious stories that patients and healthcare professionals  share  with us and to see the emotion and pride on the faces of our associates when they hear such stories. ”
